Placing Your Order

We work by appointment only for custom invitations and can usually take appointments any day or time of the week. During an appointment, we will discuss your needs as well as all of your options. For example, we will address:

  • Paper options
  • Layout styles
  • Ink colors, typefaces and design embellishments
  • The components needed, such as save the date, invite, reply, thank you, program, etc.
  • The quantity of each component you will need.
  • The time frame that you are working in.
  • Your contact information, including mailing address, telephone and email.

Proofs & Design

We work with each client to customize their own unique designs by using different papers, ink colors, font styles and design motifs. We can also offer custom map design as part of your invitation suite. All maps are completely custom created and require an additional design fee.

  • Standard proofs: 7 to 10 business days
  • Rush proofs: 1 to 3 business days

Terms of Payment

When you place your order, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. All major credit cards, cash and personal checks are accepted. Once the deposit is received, we will order all materials necessary for your order and will begin the proofing process.

The Proofing Process

Your initial proofs will be e-mailed to you in a digital format. Be aware that colors may look different on your monitor than on paper. If we feel necessary, physical proofs will be made available. Once the proof is approved, it must be either electronically approved via email or signed and turned into us in order to begin printing. The printing turnaround time will begin on the following business day. When you approve the proof, you are saying that you accept the design, text, paper, color and illustrations of the invitation. Included in the cost of your set is three rounds of changes to your initial proof. There is a $25 charge for each additional proof thereafter. We will correct, at no cost, any mistakes caused by our own error. Once proofing begins, substantial changes to the design may delay the finish date and/or create additional expenses. Please allow ample time for proofing your invitations and stationery.

Turnaround time does not include the proof process. The turnaround time begins after the proof is approved and will take 1-2 weeks.

Proofreading Responsibilities

Remember to proofread your invitation text carefully. Have one (or several) other people read over the text looking for typos, misspellings, etc. Fabulous Affairs is not responsible for these sort of errors. Due to the nature of the business, if you find such errors in your printed pieces, we can not offer a refund and we do charge for reprinting. We obviously don’t want this to happen but human error does exist! That is why we encourage you to proofread and proofread again!

Going to Press

We require either an electronic approval via email or a signed copy of the physical mock up to approve your proofs. Once approved for printing, we will then begin production of your order. Fabulous Affairs will produce an invitation suite that looks exactly like the proof (keeping in mind that color varies from screen to screen). It is also possible that their might be a slight color variation in your printed invitations, but it will be extremely subtle. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery after final approval. The remaining balance is due upon receipt.

Rush Orders

We do accept rush orders. Our current work schedule and the time frame of the client will dictate the turnaround time. Rush orders are subject to additional fees. Please call to inquire about your rush order needs.
